Welcome to Mrs. Abbott’s Dream Team! Dear Families, Thank you to all the parents who are able to send in money for Laps for Lincoln. Our class finished first on Friday at over $500! Wow! I look forward to seeing as many families who can come out to support Laps at Lincoln this year. It’s going to be amazing:) Just a reminder your child should try to read every night for a least 20 minutes. Each week I’m trying to have a focus on different websites as an extra homework to earn 5 yards. If the adult at home signs the planner, your child could potentially earn 10 yards a day or 50 yards for the week! Last week, the “online” focus was Khan Mappers. This website can be accessed through Google Classroom. Khan Mappers allows students to practice areas of strengths and weaknesses based on their NWEA math data. Your child will need to sign in through their Google account. If it’s not working it may ...

Welcome to Mrs. Abbott’s Dream Team! Dear Families, We had another productive and amazing week! This year's 2019-20 Dream Team are a bunch of wonderful students. Thank you for all of your support and commitment in helping the start of our school year go so smoothly. There are many tasks that all of us have to do to prepare, and I couldn't do it without your help. I really appreciate all of you! Most students are done with the NWEA reading and math test. On Monday and Tuesday, our class will take placement tests in Lexia and Moby. After having a couple months off it's not uncommon for students to fall victim to the "summer slide" . If your child has to repeat a level or two in Lexia, don't be alarmed. It's not uncommon. We will go over the data at your child's conference in October. Just a reminder that Back-to-School Night will be Monday night from 6-6:45. All 4th-grade parents/guardians a...

Welcome to Mrs. Abbott’s Dream Team! Dear Families, We had an amazing first week! It's been a real joy to get to know all of the students. I just want to give some reminders. If you were not able to come to the Ice Cream Social, please make sure to turn in the paperwork on Monday. If you haven't done so already, please send some pictures that your child can use in their writer's notebook. It will help stimulate writing ideas. Also, it's helpful for everyone to have a water bottle in class instead of using the water fountain. If you can send in a snack that would be great. Our mornings are really long. Lunch is not until 12:25. Please consider sending in a snack that is quick, in a baggie. Any food that has to be eaten with a utensil like applesauce, fruit cups, etc. and will stain the carpet and furniture will have to be eaten at lunchtime. I have applesauce stains on the carpet from prior years:) On Thur...
