Hello Parent,
I hope everyone is well! Earlier this week I sent out an email from our 4th-grade team about the upcoming changes in our learning plan starting tomorrow Monday, April 20th. It was a lot of information so I posted it below for a quick reference if you need it. Thank you to all the students and parents who were able to connect to our class meeting on Friday. Tomorrow Monday, April 20th and subsequent Mondays, we will have our class meetings in the same fashion. I will post the link at 10:55 ish each time. Have your child click on it and stay muted so I can begin quickly, then we can open it up with hand raising-that seemed to work well. At these meetings, I will go over the week's plan and give reminders. If time, I would also like to have "Authors Chair" similar to what we did in the classroom. So, if your child has something he/she has written have the tab open and ready to go. There will be a new plan posted in Classroom tomorrow as well. It's called, "A Week at a Glance". It's easy to follow and similar to the prior format. It just has a focus lesson added each week. Remember to sign-up for your child's and parent conference this week. These dates and times will be reoccurring until the last week of school. I will send out a new sign-up each week.
The email:
There will be 2 live Google Meets (formerly Google Hangouts) each week: one whole class and one individual. Parents must be present during the individual meetings when we share feedback on each child's work for the week.

1.) Monday will be our team meeting, so all kids will be invited to join the Google Meet through Classroom. This hangout will last approximately 30 minutes and will be recorded and shared in Classroom for those who could not attend.
2.) On Monday, a video lesson will be linked on the Week at a Glance document which will be posted on Google Classroom and emailed to parents. Don't worry if you can't watch it on Monday, it's a recording so your child can watch it whenever and as many times as needed to understand the concept. All the 4th-grade teachers in the district are working together, so the video may be a recording of a teacher from Brown, Clarke, or Lincoln.
3.) Lastly, we will meet with each child on an individual basis for 10 minutes a week. A parent should be present for this meeting since we will be discussing work completion and the student's progress on the weekly lessons. Individual conferences will start next week, April 20-24. We would like to keep the days & times the same each week if possible. If any of those days and times won't work for you to be there with your child, please email with alternate days or times. Here is the link for the sign up:Sign-up Genius
Please note that the activity boards will be changing. Per the Governor, we are allowed to assign 60-90 minutes of work a day. You are welcome to have your child work additionally on any of the programs in the symbaloo or on any other enrichment activities that you'd like.
Thank you for your continued communication and support during these challenging times. Not being there with the kids is the hardest part for us! We look forward to the day when we can meet up in person!!
Sincerely,
4th Grade Team
