 Dear Families,

    NWEA testing went well last week! We will test Monday, May 13th in the morning for the M-Step math.  We are allowing shorter testing times and more breaks along with gum chewing:) Please try to have your child on time and present tomorrow so we can have a great start for everyone. Thank you for your understanding. When students are absent it is more difficult to give them the same breaks and students do not get the same quiet areas because everyone else could be finished. It's more difficult and could effect their score because of the limitations we have in the classroom. 
     Thank you to everyone who came out Friday night to support our annual "Tech Fest".  It was a wonderful evening to be able to share with the community all of the work and dedication that our students have put into all of their projects. I'm so proud of them!
     The Track Meet was rescheduled for this coming Friday, May 17th at Upton Middle School. It's supposed to be a beautiful day!

Mrs. Abbott's Dream Team Dear Families,      I hope everyone enjoyed spring break! We have an important program coming up in April. In support of our social studies curriculum, our 4th-grade students have studied the main regions of the U.S. Students selected a famous person from the region and will be presenting a biography. We welcome families to come on April 24th from 1:00-3:00 to see all of the many different presentations!   Welcome to Mrs. Abbott’s Dream Team! Dear Parent or Guadian, We had a wonderful first week back! This next week on Thurs. Jan. 16th our class will be taking the NWEA reading assessment. We will begin promptly at 8:45. Please consider not making appointments and being on-time for school. Thank you:) The 4th graders will be embarking on a social studies/research/technology assignment that will have many layers to it. In social studies, we have been reading stories that have had a historical impact on the U.S. i.e. dust bowl, orphan trains,  immigration, Oregon Trail, Underground Railroad to name a few. Most of these events took place because of either positive or negative "push & pull" factors. Now that our 4th graders have some schema as to the when, why and how's of these events, they are going to get the opportunity to choose an event of interest, research and write an informational piece, as well as present ...

Mrs. Abbott's Dream Team Dear Families, Our class received the most RC points for 4th grade! We encourage you to try to do the nightly activities as well, so students can earn additional points. We are all set for chaperones. Everyone who sent in a request and has filled out and returned the background check can go. The trip to Lansing will be Friday, March 22nd. Thank you for your help and understanding. Also, for anyone who signed up for snacks, please continue to send in with your child .  We would like them in by next Monday so we can start putting the mix together.
