Dear Families,
Our class had a fabulous day at our "Read-In". It was so relaxing and enjoying to watch all the students really engaged in their favorite books! The parent committee put together a wonderful variety of snacks which added to all of the fun. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. I also need to extend a huge thank you for all of the gifts and beautiful words of appreciation I received. Your kindness really warms my heart. I feel truly blessed beyond words.
I am really excited to see everyone tomorrow! This week will be about reviewing routines and warming up for the rest of the Trimester:) Next Monday, January 14, our class will be taking the NWEA in reading. The following week on Wednesday, January 23 our class will take the math portion of the test. This shouldn't be a stressful time for the students. However, I encourage a good nights rest so they are ready to go! Have a great week!

Mrs. Abbott's Dream Team Dear Families,      I hope everyone enjoyed spring break! We have an important program coming up in April. In support of our social studies curriculum, our 4th-grade students have studied the main regions of the U.S. Students selected a famous person from the region and will be presenting a biography. We welcome families to come on April 24th from 1:00-3:00 to see all of the many different presentations! More information will be coming.      Below are the important testing dates coming up in May for NWEA and M-Step. Please mark your calendars and try to have your child in school on these days. We are allowing shorter testing times and more breaks along with gum chewing:) When students are absent it is more difficult to give them the same breaks and students do not get the same quiet areas because everyone else could be finished.   Welcome to Mrs. Abbott’s Dream Team! Dear Parent or Guadian, We had a wonderful first week back! This next week on Thurs. Jan. 16th our class will be taking the NWEA reading assessment. We will begin promptly at 8:45. Please consider not making appointments and being on-time for school. Thank you:) The 4th graders will be embarking on a social studies/research/technology assignment that will have many layers to it. In social studies, we have been reading stories that have had a historical impact on the U.S. i.e. dust bowl, orphan trains,  immigration, Oregon Trail, Underground Railroad to name a few. Most of these events took place because of either positive or negative "push & pull" factors. Welcome to Mrs. Abbott’s Dream Team! Dear Families,     Thank you to all the parents who are able to send in money for Laps for Lincoln. Our class had amazing collections for Lincoln School! It was wonderful to see all the families come out to support such an amazing tradition. We can't thank you enough.      The Student-Led Conferences begin this next Thursday, Oct. 10th. and will continue into the following week.
