Hello Parents,
We had a great week! Laps for Lincoln is coming up this next Friday.  Conferences are in a couple weeks! Most everyone has scheduled a conference for their child. If you haven't yet make sure you email me so we can get it scheduled. Conferences will be student-led so students need to come:) We will discuss goals, reading levels, NWEA scores, and the great progress your child is making so far! I look forward to seeing everyone.

Mrs. Abbott's Dream Team Dear Families,      I hope everyone enjoyed spring break! We have an important program coming up in April. In support of our social studies curriculum, our 4th-grade students have studied the main regions of the U.S. Students selected a famous person from the region and will be presenting a biography. We welcome families to come on April 24th from 1:00-3:00 to see all of the many different presentations! More information will be coming.      Below are the important testing dates coming up in May for NWEA and M-Step. Please mark your calendars and try to have your child in school on these days. We are allowing shorter testing times and more breaks along with gum chewing:) When students are absent it is more difficult to give them the same breaks and students do not get the same quiet areas because everyone else could be finished.   Welcome to Mrs. Abbott’s Dream Team! Dear Parent or Guadian, We had a wonderful first week back! This next week on Thurs. Jan. 16th our class will be taking the NWEA reading assessment. We will begin promptly at 8:45. Please consider not making appointments and being on-time for school. Thank you:) The 4th graders will be embarking on a social studies/research/technology assignment that will have many layers to it. In social studies, we have been reading stories that have had a historical impact on the U.S. i.e. dust bowl, orphan trains,  immigration, Oregon Trail, Underground Railroad to name a few. Most of these events took place because of either positive or negative "push & pull" factors. Now that our 4th graders have some schema as to the when, why and how's of these events, they are going to get the opportunity to choose an event of interest, research and write an informational piece, as well as present ...

Welcome to Mrs. Abbott’s Dream Team! Dear Families,     Thank you to all the parents who are able to send in money for Laps for Lincoln. Our class had amazing collections for Lincoln School! It was wonderful to see all the families come out to support such an amazing tradition. We can't thank you enough.      The Student-Led Conferences begin this next Thursday, Oct. 10th. and will continue into the following week.
